Hospital Quality
The mission of Walter Knox Memorial Hospital is to: "Provide Excellent Healthcare and Promote Quality of Life in our Community."
To achieve this goal, all employees of WKMH participate in quality improvement efforts. Our efforts focus on direct patient care delivery processes and support processes that promote optimal patient outcomes and effective business practices. This is accomplished through peer review, clinical outcomes review and other appropriate quality improvement techniques.
WKMH has been honored by Qualis Health, one of the nation’s leading healthcare quality improvement organizations, dedicated to developing and applying best practices as we deliver an extensive range of patient-centered, evidence-based healthcare quality improvement and care management services. The award was presented for successful efforts to improve patient and staff satisfaction through the initiation of a staff customer service program.
Successful public and private partnerships lead to better quality care, higher patient and provider satisfaction, improved efficiency and lower costs. Qualis serves as Medicare’s quality improvement organization (QIO) for our region which includes Idaho, Washington and Alaska. The QIO program ensures the quality, effectiveness, efficiency and economy of healthcare services provided to people with Medicare. They also provide care management, quality assessment and improvement, and health information technology consulting services to nearly three million Medicaid clients in five states.
